Indian Summer

Yesterday I went for a stroll out around Chapel in this unusually sunny weather. But like any good Melburnian, I know that you should expect the exact opposite of what you see when you look out the window - you see, Melbourne weather can change faster than you can say "Hey, is that Ryan Gosling over there?" Which is a stupid example anyway because I would never finish that question. Instead I would be hysterically running and screaming behind him, with complete disregard of my athletic abilities.

I'm a big believer in 'if you can't decide then do both' - thats why when I was 7 my favourite hairstyle was the old "half up, half, down."Or why my car has fluffy dice and a bobble head on the dash. Or why I mixed champagne and red bull the other night.

So today I went for winter on the bottom and summer on top. Nothing says summer like a clean loose white tee and minimalist, bright necklace. But nothing says I don't trust this weather like jeans and thick leather boots (and a jacket in the bag).

I'll be enjoying the day when it's freezing cold and I know it will be freezing cold all day and I can drink hot chocolate and wear all the clothes I own.

Speaking of hot chocolate, I am moving to Gippsland for 6 weeks... today! How is that related to hot chocolate you ask? Well I have this idea that in the country people sit by fires and drink hot chocolate. So I'm pretty sure that will be my life for the next 6 weeks.

Beach Babies - Fourth and Final Day in Sydney

I was so obsessed with the idea of going to the beach today, which I so sorely miss after moving to Melbourne from Perth. I forgot to bring bathers so got some $30 bathers from witchery (pretty impressive) and headed down to Coogee. It was so relaxing being able to top up my tan however the water was more like an ice bath... but my brain forced me in, guilt-tripped by the thought that I may never see a beach again (or in a few months at least) despite my body completely disagreeing with this idea.

That night before I caught my flight outta there Shez and I decided to have a mini culinary adventure at the Westfield food court - lets just say that if food courts were the royal family, Westfield Sydney food court would be the Queen and Chadstone food court would be Fergie.

Bills Babies - Day Two in Sydney

Day two started as every good day does - with a good breakfast. After a feed at Bills, we had a stroll around Surry Hills. Unsurprisingly, we spent a considerable amount of Thomas Dux - its so much fun discovering the weird and wonderful things they have there as well as plenty of cheese tasting. I love the way they have stacking shelves down to a fine art - everything is stacked with the label to the front, symmetrical, in neat columns and rows - perfecting satisfying my OCDness. We also visited this incredibly cute little shop, Holy Kitsch, specialising in Mexican themed homewards where I got the most appropriate and healthy-lifestyle-encouraging shopping bag and Shez got some wall decoration.

We then headed into the city to continue our shopping streak and enjoy the sounds of the bucket band on Pitt St mall. I finally ended the struggle of all struggles and got this Nicola Finetti skirt I have been dreaming about.

"I Never Read, I Just Look At Pictures"

Loving that Net-a-Porter stocks the beautifully simple jewellery of Mathias Chaize - especially this baby.

I own lots of photography books... that counts as reading right? If a picture tells a thousand words then that makes me a super efficient reader.

Growing Magic

I remember I had one of these when I was a kid. I thought it was so cool I tried to eat a tree. It tasted like shit.
