Pressing Issues
My brother was down from Perth the other weekend for what seemed like a coffee expedition. He is convinced the best coffee in the world is a Cimba from Cimbalinos in Cottesloe (which is damn good) but I still wanted to prove that there an other establishments that make an acceptable cappuccino. Hello Manchester Press.
I had the chorizo bagel even though we had literally just eaten... I just can't come to places like this and not eat. So good.

Sorry I Died.
But now I've come back to life! The combination of starting my surgical rotation + crappy weather + no internet connection + basically all my friends evacuating Melbourne have meant that my days are more mundane than insane. But anyway my bro came to visit me this weekend so any coffees were had. Day 1 - Yellow Bird, Market Lane Coffee, and St Ali Coffee at Gramercy Bistro.
We got into the op-shopping spirit and Luke bought these pedophile glasses for $9. What a bargain.

Lui Bar, Rialto Tower
I have my friend Shereen visiting me at the moment! When people come visit me in Melbourne I love taking them to places that you can't experience elsewhere. Lui Bar, attached to Vue De Monde, was the perfect place to watch the sunset over Melbourne on a Sunday evening. On Sundays they play some smooth, smooth live music - great thinking music to reflect on a long day of doing nothing . We admired the view of Port Melbourne and St Kilda beach while we sipped on the Lola Montez Spider Dance Fizz and the smoked rhubarb Sous Vide Shrub which weirdly, was exactly like you would expect smoked rhubarb to taste. I think this place is just about to see my business there increase 500%...

White Lies
I've thought about white jeans for a while but I had some doubts as to whether I could pull them off. Then the other day I saw some for $40 in Cotton On (umm best place for cheap jeans). All my jeans are from Cotton On these days except one token pair from Topshop. I really have very strong beliefs that expensive jeans aren't really worth it. The Cotton On jeans I have now (same cut, different colours) is the magic combination of 98% cotton, 2% elastane which is the only real requirement I have. Because I'm wearing white on the bottom I decided to go with a bit of a darker top (but not black, too harsh) so I wore this grey Sportsgirl knit (although I'm really hanging out to find the perfect jumper to wear with these jeans - maybe really dark green?). Getting all knitted up if one of my favourite things about winter, however this joy is usually soon marred by my incredible ability to make giant pulls in all my jumpers.
I wore this to breakfast at Liar Liar (where the big breakfast is called Big Fat Liar. Best cafe name ever - take note Fortysevenkirwanstreet!). I managed to get a good shot of my neon yellow Forever New necklace which is the compliment gatherer of the century - if I had a coin for every time someone gasps when I tell them it was $20 then well, I could buy another one.

Green Day
So lucky to still be getting some sun! I was so excited about going to the Botanical Gardens yesterday that I just had to go today and drag Tas with me! First we got some food at 8 Days Cafe on High Street which was wondrous. We were actually going to walk around the Tan but in classic style we went past Thomas Dux on walking back to our car got croissants and then laid in the grass and did nothing! Perfect Day.
1+2+3+4+5+6/ Lunch at 8 Days Cafe on High Street. I got the Wagyu Beef Burger and Tas got the Moroccan Chicken
7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14/ Eating almond croissants in the Botanical Gardens
15/ I want a wall like this guarding my house!

Indian Summer
Yesterday I went for a stroll out around Chapel in this unusually sunny weather. But like any good Melburnian, I know that you should expect the exact opposite of what you see when you look out the window - you see, Melbourne weather can change faster than you can say "Hey, is that Ryan Gosling over there?" Which is a stupid example anyway because I would never finish that question. Instead I would be hysterically running and screaming behind him, with complete disregard of my athletic abilities.
I'm a big believer in 'if you can't decide then do both' - thats why when I was 7 my favourite hairstyle was the old "half up, half, down."Or why my car has fluffy dice and a bobble head on the dash. Or why I mixed champagne and red bull the other night.
So today I went for winter on the bottom and summer on top. Nothing says summer like a clean loose white tee and minimalist, bright necklace. But nothing says I don't trust this weather like jeans and thick leather boots (and a jacket in the bag).
I'll be enjoying the day when it's freezing cold and I know it will be freezing cold all day and I can drink hot chocolate and wear all the clothes I own.
Speaking of hot chocolate, I am moving to Gippsland for 6 weeks... today! How is that related to hot chocolate you ask? Well I have this idea that in the country people sit by fires and drink hot chocolate. So I'm pretty sure that will be my life for the next 6 weeks.

Beach Babies - Fourth and Final Day in Sydney
I was so obsessed with the idea of going to the beach today, which I so sorely miss after moving to Melbourne from Perth. I forgot to bring bathers so got some $30 bathers from witchery (pretty impressive) and headed down to Coogee. It was so relaxing being able to top up my tan however the water was more like an ice bath... but my brain forced me in, guilt-tripped by the thought that I may never see a beach again (or in a few months at least) despite my body completely disagreeing with this idea.
That night before I caught my flight outta there Shez and I decided to have a mini culinary adventure at the Westfield food court - lets just say that if food courts were the royal family, Westfield Sydney food court would be the Queen and Chadstone food court would be Fergie.
1/ Breakfast at Black Pony Cafe in Coogee
2/ Scrambled eggs and bacon
3/ Muesli with yoghurt and honey
4/ Mango smoothie from Melonhead
5/ Yummy yoghurt selection @ Melonhead
6/ Sandy sandals
7/ Dinner at Chat Thai in Westfield
8/ Shez, doing gothic luxe
9/ Me, doing the opposite, Zara dress, Diva necklace. Another win for yin yang couple looks
10/ Green chicken curry
11/ Thanks for pointing that out. Peanut crispy chocolate mousse from Via del Corso
